Our society is in the middle of a dramatic change process. The old hunting and fishing society is slowly being transformed to a modern connected reality, where Greenland is getting closer and closer to the rest of the world. But as in all change processes we are struggling with many factors that are difficult to address. Our culture have to be a part of our transformation process to a modern society with a more connected reality. It seems as if we do not really have a common direction and thus our ship is bouncing back and forth in the waves...

Why have a chosen to be in a leadership position? Quite a few people have asked me that question and I also reply with: I WANT TO MOVE THINGS FORWARD – I want to change the world to be a better place. But am I attracted to the power and influence it gives to be in a leadership position? I guess the answer is YES! Even though I do not strieve for the power and influence in itself it is part of the equation. With that comes a huge obligation in my opinion. I must be true to myself and my beliefs. I must be able to inspire my fellow colleagues and first and foremost: I must be a good example and lead from within...
Read moreCEO from the Arctic
Kind of funny writing this blog from a different perspective than my prior blogs. I have decided to continue in English, since globalization also takes place in the Arctic.
My ambition is to blog about #leadership #GreenlandVer2 #arctic and #vision – seen from an Arctic perspective on top of the World with a different outlook than most people in the World.
My ambition is also to inspire the youth. To inspire the Greenlandic youth – but also youth from other regions to make their voice heard.
Welcome to my universe.

Once upon a time there was a region – well practically a small State – with enormous challenges. It’s primary business sectors were mining, timber, fishery and some agriculture. But structural changes around the Globe made all the sectors have a poor outlook. For a small community this was a terrible development – and thus a visionary man from the local business society, let’s call him Frank, gathered a bunch of people for food and wine. The crowd he gathered was a mixed crowd. Some from the business sector, some from Public Administration and some from the University/Educational system. The main criteria for being part of the group was to be someone who acts – not just talks. So you can imagine that this was a pretty competent group of people with power to move and shake things...
